About us:
Stegra, formerly known as H2 Green Steel, is on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden - currently in construction phase. But this is just the beginning – our expertise in green hydrogen will enable us to decarbonize other industries in addition to steel, and we look forward to what’s next in store for us.

Project Development Manager
Project Development is a function within the Project Delivery organization at Stegra. As a member of the team, you will form a key part in delivering fast-tracked projects by setting the projects up for success from the beginning. The position Project Development Manager reports to the Head of Project Development and Sprints and is based in Stockholm.
We are in the middle of delivering our first plant in Boden, Sweden. For our future projects, we strive for a combination of continuous improvement, where each plant builds on the learnings from the previous plant, and always applying the best available technologies for cost efficient decarbonization. You will form a central part in this.
As Project Development Manager, you will form part of a team that takes ownership of the process and method for how we transition project from validated concepts into executable mega projects. We will together find the right balance between standardization, continuous improvement, innovation and a just-do-it attitude, all with the purpose of enabling fast-track project delivery.
You will be responsible for the development of the Stegra building blocks/toolbox for future projects, which can include driving modularization studies, leading standardization work and defining improvement targets.
You will also participate actively in early project development, and perform early stage gate reviews on behalf of Project Delivery. This part of your work can include setting the implementation strategy for new projects, evaluating engineering partners and managing early engineering and permitting studies.
To fit the role, you can maintain a holistic perspective yet understand and challenge the need for technical maturity. You move with ease between commercial and engineering disciplines. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Verify the feasibility of future Stegra projects by setting the right criteria and assuring adequate maturity through the project development.
- Identify standardization opportunities and lead standardization work
- Identify modularization potential and drive modularization studies
- Lead or participate in early engineering studies
- Continuously improve the Stegra process for project development, to make us best in class at building large scale industrial projects
- Track future project portfolio and report back to Project Delivery management
- Collaborate with and support the rest of the Project Development and Sprints team
Requirements and skills
- You are knowledgeable yet humble and have a strong drive for improvement
- You deliver with a sense of urgency, challenge the status quo and thrive in problem solving
- Comfortable navigating complex challenges and interacting with all disciplines
- You have significant experience in large scale green-field projects, across all project phases
- You have experience from several disciplines, e.g. engineering, procurement, construction and project management. Engineering experience is a requirement.
- You move effortlessly between a birds eye perspective and technical deep dives
- You are an excellent communicator
- You have a minimum of 10 years industry experience
- You hold the equivalent of a masters degree in engineering
