About us:
Stegra, formerly know as H2 Green Steel, is on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden - currently in construction phase. But this is just the beginning – our expertise in green hydrogen will enable us to decarbonize other industries in addition to steel, and we look forward to what’s next in store for us.

Physical Power Trading Lead
In this role, you will play a critical role in establishing and managing our physical electricity trading operations. You will be responsible for day-ahead and intraday market trading in the Nordic region. Additionally, you will oversee the development of trading systems and strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks while driving the profitability of Stegra's energy portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of building Stegra’s physical trading desk, ancillary services offerings, and automated trading systems from the ground up. You will report to the Head of Energy and collaborate closely with other teams, such as IT, automation, and production, to optimize and implement energy strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trading Operations: Trade electricity in Nordic day-ahead and intraday markets, optimizing profitability and refining strategies. Collaborate with analysts to develop automated, data-driven trading signals.
- System Development: Design and implement advanced trading systems and tools, ensuring robust infrastructure.
- Ancillary Services: Develop Stegra’s ancillary services portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Build and mentor a high-performing trading team, aligning with energy portfolio goals.
- Regulatory & Contractual Oversight: Ensure compliance, manage energy contracts, and optimize supplier partnerships.
Qualification:
- 5+ years in Nordic/European power trading with proven strategy execution.
- Strong expertise in ancillary services and algorithmic trading.
- Experience working with quantitative teams and advanced analytics.
- Degree in Energy, Economics, or Engineering.
- Competitive, results-driven, and highly collaborative.
- Fluent in English; Swedish skills are a plus.
