What you’ll do
We’re currently looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Digital HR & Finance team. In this role, you will report to the Digital Domain Manager and be part of a cross-functional digital team that ensures our Finance and HR functions have the modern digital capabilities they need to power a cutting-edge steel plant.
You’ll take a leading role in shaping the digital backbone of our finance and HR functions. In this role, you will not only design and build highly decoupled microservices, APIs, and solution architectures, but also guide the team in agile ways of working to ensure delivery velocity and high-quality outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure that what we deliver creates tangible value for the
business while adhering to our digital principles. Together with your teammates, you will take responsibility for ensuring that data flows from across the organization are correct, reliable, and scalable.
Your daily work will include, but is not limited to:
- Designing, developing, and operating fast, scalable, and reliable backend services
- Building infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and development tools that enable efficient and high-quality delivery
- Guide and coach the team in agile ways of working, acting as a
Scrum Master when needed to help the team maintain focus, flow, and
delivery
- Collaborating with HR and Finance stakeholders to translate needs into solid technical solutions
- Provide technical leadership in solution architecture, setting
standards for microservice design, APIs, and data flows, and supporting
- Mentoring teammates and contributing to a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement

Specific to this role, we would like to see that you can tick off a fair amount of the boxes below:
- A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience leading teams or acting as a Scrum Master or similar role
- Proficiency in backend development using Java, Kotlin, or similar languages
- Familiarity with engineering best practices such as continuous delivery, automated testing, and clean code
- Exposure to Kubernetes, Terraform, and event-driven architecture – though a willingness to learn is just as important
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across both technical and non-technical teams
