What you’ll do
Right now, we are looking for a Shift Manager – Cold Mill to join our operations team in Boden. In this role, you will report to the Production Manager within Operations and play a key role in ensuring safe, stable, and high-quality production during your assigned shift.
You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations across key processes such as the Pickling Line Tandem Cold Mill, Acid Regeneration Plant, Batch Annealing, and Skin Pass Mill — supporting both ongoing operations as well as erection and commissioning phases.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will coordinate teams, drive performance, and ensure that safety and quality standards are met at all times. You will be at the center of daily operations, helping us build a strong operational foundation during ramp-up.
In this role, you will:
Oversee and manage Cold Mill operations during your shift, including commissioning and start-up phases
Ensure a strong safety culture, promoting safe behaviors and compliance with all standards
Drive operational performance, ensuring production targets, quality, and efficiency
Coordinate and support team members to ensure smooth and continuous operations
Act as a role model in safety and operational excellence
Support problem-solving and decision-making in real-time operational situations
Contribute to building structured ways of working during ramp-up

Experience from heavy industry operations, with strong hands-on knowledge
Good understanding of processes and technical equipment within a Cold Mill environment
Experience in leading teams in an operational setting
Ability to promote and maintain a strong safety culture
Experience working with systems such as maintenance, reporting, and production systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Very good English skills (written and spoken); Swedish is a plus
Relevant education (technical high school or higher; degree in Metallurgy, Process Engineering, or similar is beneficial)

Structured and solution-oriented, especially under pressure

Founded in 2020, Stegra (formerly H2 Green Steel) was created with the purpose to decarbonize hard-to-abate industry. Construction of our first project – an integrated plant producing green hydrogen, green iron and green steel – is well underway in Boden, Sweden.
