What you’ll do
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and traceability of technical documentation and data that underpins the success of the Boden project.
As a Document Controller, you will oversee the seamless management of project documentation, support the implementation and continuous improvement of our Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), and serve as a key point of contact between internal and external stakeholders. Cross-functional collaboration is essential for the role and you will drive best practice in the wider project delivery team, ensuring Document Control processes are adhered to and clearly communicated as part of the onboarding to the Boden project.
We have a preference for the role being based in Boden but open to Stockholm for the right candidate.
- Become a subject matter expert in our EDMS (OMEGA 365), providing system support and guidance to the project team.
- Configure and maintain the EDMS to ensure documents are accurately filed in accordance with established document control procedures.
- Work with key stakeholders to populate and maintain each Master Document Register (MDR) and Document Distribution Matrix (DDM) for your assigned project area, ensuring deliverables are tracked and distributed appropriately.
- Set up automated distributions based on the DDM to ensure timely and accurate delivery of documents to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist internal and external parties in preparing and submitting documentation with correct metadata and access permissions.
- Help the site team locate and compile documentation required for regulatory compliance and project handover.
- Provide one-on-one support and training to project team members on document management processes, including locating, exporting, reviewing, and approving documents.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of document control procedures and work instructions.
- Respond to information requests and technical queries related to documentation as needed.
- Assist with tasks such as verifying document formatting and compliance with templates, printing/scanning, and managing physical document archives.

Specific to this role, we would like to see that you can tick off a fair amount of the boxes below:
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal), with the ability to clearly communicate technical information.
- A degree in Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Document Controller or in a similar capacity
- A thorough understanding of the document and data requirements of construction projects
- Previous experience working with electronic document management systems
- Previous experience working with Omega365, Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus

Stegra is on a mission to change the global steel industry by producing green hydrogen, iron, and steel - with the goal of eliminating CO₂ emissions. Instead of coal, we use green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity, meaning our primary emissions will be water and heat.
By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitized, and sustainable plant in Boden, Northern Sweden - currently under construction. About Stegra
Founded in 2020, Stegra (formerly H2 Green Steel) was created with the purpose to decarbonize hard-to-abate industry. Construction of our first project – an integrated plant producing green hydrogen, green iron and green steel – is well underway in Boden, Sweden. Slashing emissions using green hydrogen and renewable electricity, we’re starting a clean industrial revolution. Steel is just the beginning.
