What you’ll do
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager for the Batch-Annealing & Skin Pass Mill (BAP-SPM) for the cold-mill section of the steel mill. In this position you will be responsible for building, establishing, and developing the BAP-SPM in our upcoming steel mill. You'll have five shifts and one daytime shift directly reporting to you and will be overseeing the running of the production line. This role includes taking an active role in creating a safe work environment by participating in the development and maintenance of process control and safety practices. As a production manager, you will be joining the organization in an early stage of the company and will thus be making sure the steel mill gets up and running before the launch of the steel production. You'll be directly reporting to the Head of Cold Mill.
We're looking for someone who has both theoretical and practical experience in both batch annealing and the skin pass mill. Primarily we're seeking a manager who likes to work closely with the production team and who leads by example from the shop floor.

- Build, establish and develop a robust safety culture across the organization. Overall operational responsibility for personnel, HSE, performance and budget within the production department and Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations, including the implementation of ISO and OHSAS standards.
- Lead the organization in achieving goals and objectives and monitor progress toward achieving them.
- Lead the team, providing mentorship and guidance to the production teams
- Follow up operations to ensure efficient, safe and quality controlled processes.
- Foster an innovative and inclusive organizational culture with focus on continuous improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

We're looking for someone who has:
- Extensive experience from leadership roles in flat steel production with multiple years of experience in batch annealing and a skin pass mill.
- Strong understanding of process optimization and lean principles
- Previous experience and/or knowledge of SMS-equipment
- Ability to combine long-term thinking with the ongoing work in the department.
- Excellent leadership skills, ability to develop the group and the department.
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools e.g. office suite, maintenance systems, information system, follow-up system and purchase systems
